Bidder Pre-Approval Process

Why Bidder Pre-Approval is Important

High profile fundraising auctions generate a lot of interest, especially on eBay.

The bidder pre-approval process enables us to maintain the integrity of fundraiser auctions to protect the charity and all bidders from inflated, non-genuine bidding.

Bidder Pre-Approval – Standard

Potential bidders are directed to  Our Standard Bidder Pre-Approval Form and asked to complete and submit the registration form.

Bid For Good will review applicants and add approved bidders into the list of pre-approved bidders manually on eBay.

Approved bidders will receive either an email or SMS confirmation of successful inclusion on the pre-approved bidder lists.

Bidder Pre-Approval – including a Holding Deposit*

Due to the high profile nature of certain high profile auctions we need to take an extra step to ensure that all bidders for every auction are authentic, and each bid they place is bona fide.

After submitting the first page of the form potential bidders are asked to select the PayPal button to authorise a temporary hold of $X on their Visa, MasterCard or PayPal account. This confirms that they intend on paying for the auction should they be the winning bidder. The pre-authorised amount will only be captured if they are the winning bidder and default on making payment.

Bid For Good does not store any financial details. Bid For Good reserves to right to request additional holding deposits if applicants seek registration for two or more auctions. A member of the Bid For Good team may contact the applicant via their mobile phone or email address using the details provided to validate their details.
